To quickly sum up what we offer: We insure your own or rented motorcycle ( or scooter) if you are 30 years or older, up to a value of US$3000. This insurance is valid for any country you ride in as a foreigner, except the USA, Western Europe and Canada. You are also welcome to switch motorcycles as you travel and ride in different areas and countries, just let us know when you do so. Thus, if your own motorcycle or the rented motorcyle you ride is damaged by an accident, regardless of fault, you can submit the claim to us, subject to a deductible of US$ 500. If no claim is lodged during the insurance period you get 70% back within 1 week after and then also share in the insurance surplus, after 1 year has passed.
The less we claim the more we all get back and at least we have some peace of mind when an accident occurs. The idea is not to complicate this type of insurance by adding medical insurance etc...You can get travel insurance for that. The idea is...if the SHTF you can immediately have funds available for repairs or to pay the rental company at least some funds towards their repairs. We will make payment to you within hours after we received the claim form! We have seldom seen a rental company suffering a total write off loss, at worst the bike gets used as spare parts if it is not repairable. If you have been riding a lot you probably know that in more than 90% of cases, this is all that would have been needed to give you peace of mind.
In cases of small damages i.e. rearview mirrors you can often purchase the items and replace on your own or have repairs done at local shops along the way. This is the reason we only pay out for damages over US$500. Our team of assessors, 4 permanent, and 2 ad hoc chosen randomly from our insured members ( in case of a claims dispute) will ensure you get funds paid into your Paypal account within 24 hours after the event took place. I have seen so many inflated repair quotes in my life, so let us act fair and honest please.
The honour system will of course govern this entire agreement and if any member picks up on dishonesty, please let us know. It affects all of us in the end when it comes to surplus payout. On that score we would also like everyone to know we will publish our accounts twice a year in the form of a simple balance sheet where payouts, permanent senior associates' remuneration and administration costs will be clearly shown. We will try our best to keep all the admin costs associated for running the business, including salaries, well under 10% of total premiums received.
We need you to fill out our form as accurately as possible, with the commencement date and period you require the insurance for , the choices are 3 months, 6 months and 1 year.If your travel plans are cancelled or change, let ius know and we will refund in full if your trip is cancelled or we can adjust commencement date if your dates changed. We have to receive payment at least 1 week before commencement date and initially we will only accept Paypal payments. On the day you receive your rental motorcycle or when your insurance starts if you already have a motorcycle, all we need is you to take pics of the motorcycle all angles, the engine number, frame number if possible, license plate, pics of paperwork, mileage(odometer),your motorcycle license, passport ( you can block out the last 2 digits if you like) and a local newspaper with the date clearly showing, positioned on the bike.
When an accident occurs, we need pics again of all vehicles involved and surrounding area, the exact position/place as per a shared Google Maps point, the date, time and also a short description of what and how it took place.
Remember to wear protective gear!
